Protecting athletes from doping

Doping is a despicable act that not only undermines the dignity of sport but also risks damaging the athlete's own body.
However, not all athletes who violate doping rules do so intentionally.

Many cases of "accidental doping" occur due to accidents or lack of knowledge.
If a doping violation occurs, even if it was unintentional, a suspension for a certain period will be imposed unless it can be proven that it was unintentional.

Rules, which are supposed to uphold the dignity of sports and protect athletes, can sometimes end up causing suffering to athletes.
We provide services to prevent doping and to protect athletes in the event of an incident.

dinx's Anti-Doping Policy

Prevent doping

With doping tests starting at the National Sports Festival in 2023, the system is changing so that doping is a concern not only for professional athletes but for all athletes.
By undertaking initiatives to make doping feel like a relevant issue to people, we aim to increase public awareness and a sense of urgency regarding doping.

Preparing for "what if" scenarios

It is certainly important to be careful not to dope. However, anyone can be at risk of "accidental doping," where they unintentionally ingest a prohibited substance.

If you accidentally dope, you can minimize the sanctions associated with doping if you can prove that it was unintentional.

According to the "Japan Anti-Doping Code," it is clearly stated that if you cannot demonstrate how the substance entered your body, the possibility of proving that it was not intentional is extremely low.

Looking at the decision documents published by JADA, it's clear that the length of the suspension period differs significantly depending on whether or not it was intentional doping.

2020_001 incident It has not been proven that it was unintentional.
  • Expiration of competition results
  • Suspension of eligibility for 4 years
2020_003 incident It has not been proven that it was unintentional, but it is a specific substance.
  • Expiration of competition results
  • Suspension of eligibility for 2 years
2021_001 incident It has been proven that it was unintentional.
  • Expiration of competition results
  • Five-month suspension of eligibility
2022_001 incident It has not been proven that it was unintentional.
  • Expiration of competition results
  • Suspension of eligibility for 3 years
2022_003 incident It has not been proven that it was unintentional.
  • Expiration of competition results
  • Suspension of eligibility for 3 years

In the "2021_001 case," the method by which the substance entered the body could be identified, allowing it to be proven unintentional, resulting in a relatively short suspension period.
In other cases, the method by which the substance entered the body could not be identified, making it impossible to prove unintentionality, or it was determined to be intentional doping, resulting in longer suspension periods compared to cases where unintentionality could be proven.

dinx provides a system that allows individuals or teams to manage their medication use, which can be presented as evidence to prove that the medication was not taken intentionally.
